Laila Beck is the Upperclassmen Student of the Month for October. She is the daughter of Jason and Alicia Beck and has a sister (Kaylee) who is a freshman here at Triopia. Laila is involved in FFA, National Honor Society, and Student Council here at Triopia.
Mrs. Price nominated Laila and noted, “Laila is a dedicated and hardworking student. I know she is very active in FFA, but she doesn't let that distract her from her other classes. She's responsible for making up work if she misses anything. I can always count on her to participate in class and she contributes to insightful conversations. She has demonstrated both kindness and respect around her teachers and peers” In addition, Ms. Fisher mentioned “Laila always brings a great amount of energy to class, is very hard working, and always has funny stories to share.”
Laila plans to attend a junior college for livestock judging and plans to pursue an agricultural career involving chemistry and/or biology. Laila’s goal for life after high school is to focus on surviving college.
Laila’s favorite class is Calculus with Mrs. Dober as they are doing a lot of algebra right now in class. Some of Laila’s favorite things are her mothers cream cheese danish, Hereford Cows, the TV show, Yellowstone, the movie Avatar, and her favorite holiday is Christmas. She enjoys showing cattle, riding horses, drawing, and bass fishing. However, Maggie does not like history classes and “questionnaires that ask her what her favorite things are. "Congratulations, Laila Beck!

Garrett Sheehan is the Underclassmen Student of the Month for October. He is the son of David and Breanne Sheehan and he has 3 siblings, Kyleigh, Gavan, and Luke. Garrett is involved in FFA here at Triopia.
Garrett was nominated by Mrs. Burrus who had this to say, “Garrett is a great student. He is willing to put in the extra effort to understand and be successful.”
Garrett wants to attend college after high school and wants to be a Land Broker in the future. Garrett’s favorite class is Ag Mechanics with Ms. Harmon because he gets to continuously learn new skills. Some of Garrett’s favorite things are Lasagna, dogs, and his favorite holiday is Christmas. Garrett's favorite sport is football and he really enjoys being active in the motocross. Garrett’s pretty easy going and there really isn’t much he doesn't like. He did say, “I just don’t like the masks.”

Each year the third full week of October is considered "Principal Appreciation Week" in Illinois. Please join us in recognizing the hard work of our two building principals. We are lucky to have Mrs. Hobrock and Mr. Sorrells! Our buildings would not be the same without their dedication to our students and staff! Please take a moment to reach out to let them know how much you appreciate them this week!

Reminder: Parent/Teacher Conferences are this Wednesday and Thursday. If you have not already done so, please click on the link below to schedule a time to meet with your child's teacher. Parents can also call the school to get an appointment.
