Each year the third full week of October is considered "Principal Appreciation Week" in Illinois. Please join us in recognizing the hard work of our two building principals. We are lucky to have Mrs. Hobrock and Mr. Sorrells! Our buildings would not be the same without their dedication to our students and staff! Please take a moment to reach out to let them know how much you appreciate them this week!

Reminder: Parent/Teacher Conferences are this Wednesday and Thursday. If you have not already done so, please click on the link below to schedule a time to meet with your child's teacher. Parents can also call the school to get an appointment.

Jason Beck came in to give them a first hand account of his job at the power plant near Peoria. He shared his knowledge about how electricity is transformed from fossil fuels at the plant and what power plants are doing to protect the environment. Thanks Jason!

The September Junior High Student of the Month is Nevaeh Beddingfield (7th grade student). She is the daughter of Charles and Stephanie Beddingfield and has a sister, Courtney. Navaeh is involved in Archery club here at Triopia.
Nevaeh was nominated by Mrs. Dober who had this to say, “Nevaeh has been working very hard in math but also in advisory every day. She makes sure to ask many questions and understand the topic. As she is working through homework in advisory, she goes and checks in with teachers whenever a question arises. So far she is doing great!”
Nevaeh wants to attend Oxford University in London when she graduates and wants to study criminal injustice and the forensic science field. Nevaeh says that her favorite classes are Math and Social Studies because she really loves to be challenged and Mrs. Dober and Mrs. Price challenges her each and every day. Nevaeh really likes hot cheetos, yogurt, and snakes. Her favorite TV show is Anne and her favorite movie is Harry Potter. Nevaeh’s favorite holiday is Halloween. Nevaeh really likes archery and playing the piano. However, Nevaeh is not a fan of tomatoes and hates bad endings to books. Congratulations Nevaeh Beddingfield!

Maggie Foster is the Upperclassmen Student of the Month for September. She is the daughter of John and Jamie Foster. Maggie is involved in Softball, Yearbook, Scholastic Bowl, and a football manager for the team here at Triopia.
Mrs. Dober nominated Maggie and noted, “I have not had Maggie in class since she was a 7th grader and boy has her skills grown. She is doing great so far in College Algebra even in the more difficult topics. She asks great questions and makes sure to understand what she is doing to do well each day. I love her work ethic! Go Maggie!”
Maggie plans to attend a college or university after high school but is not sure of where at this point. She is interested in going into the medical field and becoming an RN. Maggie’s goal for life after high school is to do lots of traveling.
Maggie’s favorite class is Dual Credit History as she finds the conversations to be incredibly interesting and really enjoys Mr. Doyle’s classroom structure. Some of Maggie’s favorite things are Tuna Casserole, the Longhorn Cattle, the TV show Criminal Minds, the movie Untouchables, and her favorite holiday is Christmas. She enjoys playing softball and reading. However, Maggie does not like carrots, running, and trying new foods. Congratulations, Maggie Foster!

Owen McCoy is the Underclassmen Student of the Month for September. He is the son of Jody Bell and the late Ben McCoy. Ben’s stepdad is Gabe Bell and he has 2 brothers, Payton and Parker and one stepbrother, Parker Bell. Owen is involved in the Archery Club and the Scholastic Bowl team here at Triopia.
Owen was nominated by Mr. Brockhouse who had this to say, “His work ethic during Physical Education this year has been awesome! He knows the exercises we do are challenging for him but he continues to push himself to get better everyday. At the beginning of the year he used the stage to help himself up on forward lunges and has recently completed 5 reverse lunges without assistance.”
Owen wants to attend MIT (Midwest Institute of Technology) after high school and has interest in being a programmer, history professor, and the field of political sciences. Owen’s favorite class is History as it teachers him about our past and how it can be a precedent for the future. Some of Owen’s favorite things are Japanese Noodles, the TV show Avatar the Last Airbender, the movie Star Wars Episode III, and his favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Owen really enjoys being a part of the Scholastic Bowl team, playing video games, and sleeping. Owen’s least favorite things are eggs and socializing with new people. Congratulations Owen McCoy!
