Triopia Jr/Sr High will be adjusting our RL (Remote Learning) and RLQ (Remote Learning Quarantined) expectations for the second semester starting on January 19th (which is a B day). All students who have elected to learn from home or are forced to quarantine will be expected to follow the expectations below. The biggest change is: Remote Learning students and Remote Learning-Quarantined students are required to be in class each day. The students should be present in the online format of their teachers choice until they are dismissed by their teacher. Therefore, all RL and RLQ students will be expected to follow the same schedule as if they were at school learning. Grades can be affected if the students do not attend class.

Brooklyn Beck is the Underclassmen Student of the Month for December. She is the daughter of Jim Beck and Ashley Beck and her siblings are KJ, Jace, and Hadlee. Brooklyn is involved in volleyball, basketball, and FFA here at Triopia. Brooklyn was nominated by Mrs. Dober who had this to say, “Brooklynn has worked extra hard these last couple of weeks to make sure that she gets caught up from being remote. She worked hard and spent extra time. She always has a smile on her face and makes the best cookies!” Brooklyn says that she wants to own her own bakery when she gets older and plans to attend the Culinary Academy in San Antonio, Texas after she graduates. Brooklyn’s favorite class is Accounting with Mrs. Smith because Mrs. Smith is really nice and will make sure she understands everything in class. Some of Brooklyn’s favorite things are chocolate, horses, playing volleyball, and her favorite holiday is Christmas. Her favorite movie is Annabelle and her favorite TV show is Young and Hungry. Brooklyn’s least favorite things are Mondays, coffee, waking up early, snakes, and spiders. Congratulations Brooklyn!

Triopia Jr/Sr High School has decided to forego final exams for the first semester. We feel that having an additional week of instruction will be more beneficial than having final exams this year. Therefore, the week of January 11th will be a normal school week.

Final Exams Canceled
As we head home for a two-week winter break, we wanted to take the time to tell our teachers and staff how much they are appreciated. We have had seventy-eight days of student attendance this first semester, and it's all due to the hard work and perseverance of our teachers and staff. There were difficult days, and surely some moments of frustration, but they did it. This was not what they signed up for, but yet every day they showed up and did what needed to be done for the students of our community. We couldn't be any luckier. The communities of Arenzville, Chapin, and Concord are blessed to have such dedicated teachers, paraprofessionals, office staff, custodians, bus drivers, and cooks. If you are a student or community member, take the time by whatever means necessary to thank our roughly sixty employees for doing an incredible job these first five months. They got the job done! Thanks to Myers Signs and Graphics for helping with the signs to display our appreciation! #triopia

The December Junior High Student of the Month is Raegan Bunch. She is the daughter of Kristy Bunch and she wants to play volleyball here at Triopia. Raegan was nominated by Mrs Whelan who had this to say, “Raegan has been putting forth great effort this semester in Science class. She puts her best foot forward on all of her assignments and tries hard to grasp new concepts. Raegan has been helping others during labs by taking the leadership role in her groups.” Raegan wants to be a Nurse or a Doctor but is undecided on where she wants to go to school. Raegan’s favorite class is Math with Mrs Dober because, “even though she is strict, she is funny and makes it really fun to learn.” Raegan really likes dogs, going for bike rides, and Christmas. Her favorite movie is either Rookie or Sandlot and her favorite sport is baseball. Raegan has a few things she does not like as well. She doesn't like bad drivers, basketball, and heights. Congratulations Raegan Bunch!

Daniel Wingert is the Upperclassmen Student of the Month for December. He is the son of Rebecca Burchard and Leland Wingert and is involved in Band and Scholastic Bowl here at Triopia. Ms. Ayres nominated Daniel and noted, “Daniel always comes to class with a lot of energy, and this energizes others in the classroom. He is always willing to ask questions, and he takes the time to understand the material. Dan's honesty and openness is a breath of fresh air.” Daniel is not certain on where he is going to school but wants to be a sound engineer. His goal after high school is to be a rockstar. His favorite class is Physics because Ms. Ayres is “ultra cool.” Some of Daniel’s favorite things are fried rice, playing the guitar, and being better at minecraft than his friend Curtis. Daniel’s favorite movie is Good Burger. Daniel mentioned that he does not like when Mr. Sorrells doesn’t think he is “ultra cool” and he does not like the movie Polar Express.
