At this time, Triopia Schools will be closed through April 7 and return to school on April 8. We know that during this closure, many parents are without work. Triopia Schools would like to continue to offer a lunch option to help lessen this burden. This is a FREE service open to ALL students, regardless of income.
Starting now there will be only TWO deliveries each week - Monday (you'll receive 2 lunches/child for Monday and Tuesday) and Wednesday (you'll receive 3 lunches/child for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). Again this is available to any child in your household under the age of 18.
A survey was sent via email and text to all parents listed in our system this morning. This survey only needs to be completed if you would like to receive lunches and currently do not. If you have received lunches this past week, we already have you on the list. If you need taken off the list at anytime, please contact Mrs. Hobrock.
Please complete the survey and submit by 5:00 PM this evening (Sunday, March 22) so proper preparations can be made for the upcoming weeks.
Again, please reach out to one of the administrators with any questions:

Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this time.

Good afternoon:
Today, Governor Pritzker extended school closures through April 7th. The administrators will meet early next week and share more information regarding continued learning after that. The plan is also to continue to provide lunches, although how those are distributed may change. We hope everyone stays well during this time.
Sincerely,
Adam Dean, Superintendent

We know so many people are having to cancel birthday parties and other events, so Mrs. Skultety (and Sophia) shared a fun way to create a birthday cake! Show us your birthday cake creation (or one of the other LEGO challenges) in the comments!

This Saturday (March 21) is World Down Syndrome Day and although we aren't able to be together at school with our friend, Isaac French, we'd love for students, staff and friends to wear mismatched socks tomorrow (Friday, March 20) in honor of him...
Please post a picture in the comments (on Facebook). Isaac will love to see!
Also, enjoy this clip of Mrs. Moses reading Just Ask!: Be Different, Be Brave, Be You.

Good Afternoon:
I recently participated in a webinar with the Illinois State Board of Education with some new guidance. According to their presentation, work completed during the closure should not "negatively impact a student's grades or academic standing". Therefore, I have told teachers that work completed can be used to boost a student's grade if they so choose. I have told them to use their judgement on how they do this since grading practices can vary from subject to subject and from teacher to teacher. For specific questions, students should reach out to their teachers. Since this is recent news, give teachers a chance to come up with a plan if they so choose. I would argue this is good, because it should further motivate our students to complete their packets or online work.
Thank you,
Adam Dean, Superintendent

All Triopia JH/HS students and parents: Our school closure has put a halt on yearbook production and, more importantly, coverage. Since the yearbook is designed to include the history of the school year, the yearbook staff is planning to have a section focused on this time. We need photos of Triopia students and how they are spending their time during the school closure. Are they working on things teachers assigned, doing chores, playing video games, getting extra hours at work, babysitting their younger siblings, staying fit for spring sports, or something else? Triopia faculty and staff can also join in! Please email photos to emorrow@triopiacusd27.org with a brief description of who took the photo and what is happening. Cell phone photos welcome, but please, no filters! You will also receive photo credit in the yearbook.
THANK YOU from the Triopia Yearbook Staff
Please share to get the word out!

Thank you for everyone’s efforts to come to the school today for their packets and learning materials. The vast majority were able to make it! Our staff spent a lot of time preparing these materials for you. Please use the work shared in the packets or online to stay engaged during this time away. #triopia

Attention Sophomores - The Pizza Sales Fundraiser will be canceled for this year. Please do your best to notify and return money to those who have already purchased.

Triopia Athletic Boosters Powerful Dreams Banquet scheduled for Saturday, March 21, has been postponed. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

Pick Up Materials and Lunch Services -
Triopia Schools will allow students and parents to come in and get educational materials they may need over this extended period. Please note - we will limit access in the building and use social distancing at all times. Access will be granted only using front entrances from 2:30-5:00 PM tomorrow, Monday, March 16. If you are unable to make it or feel uncomfortable, please reach out to your building administrator and we will make other arrangements.
GS students will have packets they can pick up in the front GS foyer.
JH/HS students will be allowed to go to their locker to get necessary materials (we will do our best to limit students in the building).
If you requested meals, lunch pickup services will begin tomorrow. All designated locations will have pick ups available from 11-11:30 each day.
Again, please reach out to one of the administrators with any questions:
Adam Dean - adean@triopiacusd27.org - 217-457-2281 x1025

Jamie Hobrock - jhobrock@triopiacusd27.org - 217-457-2281 x1032
Thank you for your flexibility and patience during this time.

All events - practices, meetings and games at Triopia are canceled until further notice.

Due to a confirmed case in Sangamon County, Triopia Schools will NOT be in session on Monday, March 16. More information will be sent out this weekend.
