Triopia Little League is going to postpone baseball and softball for one week. It is our plan to start the week of June 15th. This gives us more time to contact parents and get the fields in playing condition and ensure we have guidelines put in place to ensure everyone enjoys their time playing and staying healthy. Thank you!

Good evening:
Earlier this week, the state of Illinois began to relax some guidelines on in-person learning. For instance, now we can begin Behind-the-Wheel driving (with stipulations) instruction again. Mr. Thompson will begin reaching out soon to the students who need to get their driving hours in so they can obtain their license.
Also, today the IHSA released their “Stage One of Return to Play” guidelines. These are the promising first steps towards possible athletics this next school year. These guidelines are IDPH approved. I will post the link to these guidelines below.
On Monday afternoon, the IHSA is holding a webinar about these guidelines. After possible questions are answered and we feel comfortable moving forward, I will look to have approval from the Morgan County Health Department, our district attorney and our liability insurance carrier. After that, we hope to have a special board meeting in the middle of next week to formally approve this plan.
In short, student athletes will hopefully begin to work with coaches in groups of ten for conditioning and weight lifting purposes soon. Guidelines in the document will be followed. After board approval, coaches can begin reaching out to make plans with student athletes.
If all of this goes to plan, I will update you all again next week. While there is no guarantee, I have a good feeling all will be approved and we will be allowed to do this.
It will be nice to get some of our students back at the school. Hopefully we are taking these first small steps back towards some normalcy for our fall semester.
As always, if you have questions give me a call at 217-457-2281 x 1025 or email me at adean@triopiacusd27.org.
Stay well,
Adam Dean, Superintendent
