Aiden Neathery is the Underclassmen Student of the Month for October. He is the son of Dustin and Mekelle Neathery and is involved in football, basketball, FFA, and Student Council.
Aiden was nominated by Mrs. Burrus who had this to say, “Aiden is an overall nice kid, he's kind and considerate to everyone. I enjoy his stories that he shares and how he tries to help those that aren't understanding in class..”
Aiden says that he wants to continue his education after high school at a college or trade school. However, he is unsure of “where” at this time. Aiden’s favorite class is PE with Mr. Brockouse because he enjoys playing games and competing. Some of Aiden’s favorite things are German Chocolate Cake, wolves, and Christmas. His favorite move is Blindside and his favorite TV show is American Pickers. His favorite non-school related activity showing livestock for 4-H. Aiden’s least favorite thing is doing homework. Congratulations Aiden Neathery!


The October Junior High Student of the Month is Kaylee Beck. She is the daughter of Jason and Alicia Beck. Kaylee is involved with Poms here at Triopia.
Kaylee was nominated by Mrs. Burrus who had this to say, “Kaylee works hard during class. She participates well and is a joy to have around.”
Kaylee wants to be a nurse or biologist and start her postsecondary schooling at Lincoln Land Community College. Kaylee’s favorite class is science with Mrs. Whelan because she likes learning about genes in animals and the human body. Kaylee enjoys riding horses and showing livestock in her free time. Her favorite holiday is the Fourth of July and her favorite animal is the stingray. Kaylee has a few things she does not like as well. She does not like the weekly social studies quizzes and scary movies. Congratulations Kaylee Beck!


Jayla Waid is the Upperclassmen Student of the Month for October. She is the daughter of Rusty and Jackie Waid and she is involved in volleyball, softball, and Student Council.
Mrs. Dober nominated Jayla and noted, “Jayla is a quiet soul in a rambunctious class. She works hard for her grades and always wants to be the best that she can. She helps all of her classmates no matter the subject.”
Jayla wants to study radiological sciences after high school and has not yet made a decision on where she wants to go to college. Her favorite class is Ceramics with Mrs. Wardell because she really enjoys making things. Some of Jayla’s favorite things are scotcheroos, dolphins, and Christmas. Her favorite thing to do non-school related is playing volleyball at fitness world. Jayla mentioned that she does not like politics. Congratulations Jayla Waid!

Any girls in grades 6-8 who are interested in playing junior high volleyball are encouraged to attend open gyms on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-5:30 starting on November 2nd. Players should bring their own water bottles and wear masks. There will not be a player/parent meeting this year, but relevant information will be sent home with players during the first week.

Due to restrictions, we are unable to hold our annual Veterans Day Recognition program. We would still like to honor those Veterans with a complimentary curbside pickup breakfast on Wednesday, November 11 from 9-10 AM. To RSVP for breakfast, please contact Mrs. Hobrock at 217-457-2281 x1032 or via email at jhobrock@triopiacusd27.org.
On November 11, please pull in the upper back parking lot and then down through the fire lane - we will meet you with your complimentary breakfast.
*If you are new to the community and are a veteran or know of a local veteran, please contact Mrs. Hobrock in order to be added to our list for future programs.


Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for the next two evenings from 3:30-7:30. Grade school parents who are attending in person, please park in the front of the school and come through the main grade school doors. Please don’t arrive too early, we ask you to wait in your vehicles until your assigned time.
As you enter, you will have your temperature taken and will be required to wear a mask at all times when inside the building. Please limit the number of people attending.
