Good afternoon:
My apologies for the communication error with emergency routes this AM. We think we have this issue figured out for future announcements. We are glad everyone made it safely and we were able to have school.
Since we are in the peak of the winter weather season, I did want to take the time to remind you that the Triopia Board of Education passed a “late start” procedure this past summer. If there ever is a time where I speak with our road commissioners and they feel like roads can be cleared relatively quickly, we will use this procedure. School will start at 10:00 AM if we use this system (dismissal will remain at the same time). Busses will run approximately ninety minutes later than they usually do. So, if your child is usually picked up at 7:30 AM, look for them to be picked up at 9:00 AM. Please realize the first time this is used, whether this year or another, it may be met with some hiccups. Our hope is that we can have school on days where road conditions are really only poor for a short time.
Also, please remember that stopping on the highway in front of the school in the morning is not safe. We realize there is congestion in the morning, and especially more so when more students are dropped off during inclement weather. If you pull up and see a line into the circle drive, please pull to the back parking lot and wait a few minutes, or circle back around a few minutes later. Also please remember if you are helping a student into the building, please park to help them in, instead of getting out of your car in the circle drive.
We are also attaching the emergency routes to this post as well. Just for further clarification, if we announce a late start with emergency routes, the pickups would be ninety minutes after what is on this sheet.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call at 217-457-2283 x 1025 or email at adean@triopiacusd27.org.
Sincerely,
Adam Dean
Superintendent

Thanks!

Dear Students, Parents, Staff and Community Members:
The IDPH changed their guidance for athletic activities this afternoon. Any region in Phase Four will be able to participate in all sports to varying degrees. I am so excited for our student athletes! The guidance can be found here:
http://dph.illinois.gov/covid19/community-guidance/sports-safety-guidance
Please be patient in regards to questions about specifics and schedules. The IHSA and IESA will meet soon to revise the athletic calendar. Then, district athletic directors have the difficult job of rescheduling contests and gym schedules.
Remember, this is only as long as we remain in Phase Four. Do your part to follow guidelines so our students and community can stay safe and our athletes can have the seasons they have had to miss!
Sincerely,
Adam Dean
Superintendent
