Kimberly Gallegos is the Underclassmen Student of the Month for February. She is a sophomore here at Triopia and is the daughter of Nancy Acala and Jorge Gallegos. She has 3 brothers Hugo (class of 2019), Charly (Class of 2021), and George (sophomore here at Triopia). Kimberly was nominated by Ms. Fisher who had this to say, “She always has a great attitude and comes to class prepared.” Kimberly plans to attend Western Illinois University or Southern Illinois University after high school and wants to become an English Language Arts Teacher. Kimberly’s favorite class is P.E. with Mr. Brockhouse because she enjoys weightlifting and being able to be active in the different units. Some of Kimberly’s favorite things are macaroni and cheese, ice cream, Koala’s, the tv show Gilmore Girls, the movie Flipped, and her favorite holiday is Easter. Kimberly really enjoys watching football and basketball games with her friends. The only thing Kimberly does not like is “fake” people. Congratulations Kimberly!

Riddick Workman is the Upperclassmen Student of the Month for February. He is a junior here at Triopia and is the son of Melanie Workman and the late William Workman. He has a sister, Ameara who is an 8th grader here at Triopia. Riddick is a member of the Regional Championship Scholastic Bowl team, he serves as the Greenehouse Manager, and is the Treasurer of the junior class. Mr. Beddingfield nominated Riddick and noted, “From the outside looking in; just observing Riddick in Ms. Harman's horticulture class, I find him to be very meticulous in his work/effort on assignments. In the greenhouse, Riddick many times can be seen doing the thankless jobs. As the scholastic bowl coach, Riddick has become much more of a leader, by answering many more tossup questions. Also, he is much more outspoken in practices and matches. Finally, as a father; I take great pride in Riddick as he is always holding the door for EVERYONE as they enter or exit a building or room. His parents can be very proud of him.” Riddick plans to attend college but is undecided on where at this time. Riddick plans to study Wildlife Biology wherever he decides to go. Riddick has a few goals after high school. He wants to make those around him happy, take care of cats, and to visit Washington. Riddick’s favorite class is College Algebra with Mrs. Dober because he really enjoys problem solving even though the class is a bit hard. Some of Riddick’s favorite things are Cheddar Cheese Chex Mix, his cat George, the TV Show Adventure Time, the movie Snake on a Plane, and his favorite holiday is Halloween. He enjoys hiking and playing video games outside of school. However, Riddick is not a big fan of peas, cliffs, and realizing he has homework to do 5 minutes before he goes to bed. Congratulations Riddick Workman!
