For the week of September 12th, 2022, Triopia is pleased to spotlight new Triopia Grade School teacher Lindsay Beck. Mrs. Beck graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2008, and also received her master’s degree from Walden University in 2010. Mrs. Beck has experience teaching pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first, second, and Title reading. Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing the excitement as kids learn new things and accomplish goals. Outside of school, Mrs. Beck likes running, cooking, watching her boys in their activities, and spending time with family. Her favorite thing about Triopia is the family atmosphere. Mrs. Beck also coaches the cross country team for Virginia and Triopia. We are thankful to have Mrs. Beck and for everything she does for our students! #triopia

For the week of September 5th, 2022, Triopia is pleased to spotlight new Jr. Sr. High School teacher Gracie Holt. Mrs. Holt graduated from Western Illinois University in December of 2021 with a major in secondary education and History. This is Mrs. Holt’s first year teaching, but she has experience subbing in Beardstown, Virginia, and Triopia. Mrs. Holt’s favorite class to teach is Historical Fiction. She says it’s a mix of her two favorite things: literature and history! Mrs. Holt loves to see the “click” in students when they understand something for the first time, especially in high school when students figure out new things. She says she had memorable teachers in high school and she wants to be the same thing for her students as well! Outside of school, Mrs. Holt is on the Morgan County Fair Board where she volunteers year round on difference committees. She also just bought her first house so that also keeps her busy. Her favorite thing about Triopia is the sense of community and passion people have for each other in the area. After being a student here, she knew she wanted to be a part of the atmosphere! She says it’s surreal being back in the place she loved so much growing up! When asked about something random about herself, Mrs. Holt told us that she studied abroad in London and toured Shakespeare’s Globe Theater! Now she is teaching Shakespeare to her own students! We are thankful to have Mrs. Holt and for everything she does for our students! #triopia
