Happy Birthday, Mrs. Price!

For the week of September 5th, 2022, Triopia is pleased to spotlight new Jr. Sr. High School teacher Gracie Holt. Mrs. Holt graduated from Western Illinois University in December of 2021 with a major in secondary education and History. This is Mrs. Holt’s first year teaching, but she has experience subbing in Beardstown, Virginia, and Triopia. Mrs. Holt’s favorite class to teach is Historical Fiction. She says it’s a mix of her two favorite things: literature and history! Mrs. Holt loves to see the “click” in students when they understand something for the first time, especially in high school when students figure out new things. She says she had memorable teachers in high school and she wants to be the same thing for her students as well! Outside of school, Mrs. Holt is on the Morgan County Fair Board where she volunteers year round on difference committees. She also just bought her first house so that also keeps her busy. Her favorite thing about Triopia is the sense of community and passion people have for each other in the area. After being a student here, she knew she wanted to be a part of the atmosphere! She says it’s surreal being back in the place she loved so much growing up! When asked about something random about herself, Mrs. Holt told us that she studied abroad in London and toured Shakespeare’s Globe Theater! Now she is teaching Shakespeare to her own students! We are thankful to have Mrs. Holt and for everything she does for our students! #triopia

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Wardell!

Congratulations to the 2022 Triopia High School Homecoming Court!

For the week of August 29th, 2022, Triopia is pleased to spotlight new district speech pathologist Anna Virgin. Mrs. Virgin graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in 2009 and a master’s degree in 2011 in Speech-Language Pathology. Mrs. Virgin was a speech pathologist in the Mattoon Area School District from 2012 to 2016. When her family moved to this area, she has since subbed in districts such as Jacksonville, Franklin, and Waverly. Her favorite thing about working as a speech pathologist is helping students and watching them grow and progress. She says there is nothing more rewarding than watching a child gain confidence with their communication! Outside of school, Mrs. Virgin enjoys spending time with her family and making memories with them. This includes attending games for the Cardinals and Illini, taking vacations, and crafting. She says she is very excited to join the team at Triopia as it feels very welcoming and family oriented! When asked about something random about herself, Mrs. Virgin says she once sold a tea-ring for over $1,000 at a food auction at the county fair! We are thankful to have Mrs. Virgin and are excited to have her work with our students! #triopia

As allergies are on the rise, we are taking extra precautions at Triopia this year. Please do not send anything for your child's class without checking with your child's teacher or the office first.
We ask that if you send treats for birthdays, holidays, etc. that everything be prepackaged and it comes to school with the labels. No cupcakes, cookie cakes or bakery items are allowed.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Hobrock.
Our number one goal is always student safety! Thank you for your cooperation!

There will be a 50/50 drawing at the home football games this year... the proceeds will go to update the recordboard for the (retired) Track and Field team.
Tickets will be: $1/ticket; $5/6 tickets or $10/arm length(20 tickets).
Your support is appreciated!

The Kindergartener's have enjoyed seeing other classes dress in the same colors throughout the past week!
They invite all students and staff to join them as they review and learn more about colors this week:
Monday, August 29 - Black
Tuesday, August 30 - White

Is your name on the reading board?
PK-6 monthly reading forms are due Wednesday, August 31!
