For the week of September 19th, 2022, Triopia is pleased to spotlight new Jr. Sr. High School teacher Kelsey Handy. Ms. Handy graduated from Western Illinois University in 2015. Prior to coming to Triopia, she taught at Jacksonville High School for two years. Ms. Handy’s favorite class to teach is horticulture, and her favorite thing about teaching ag is getting to do lots of hands on activities and getting students involved in FFA so they can experience new things. Outside of school, Ms. Handy enjoys cooking, gardening, and swimming. Her favorite thing about Triopia is the small school setting and how friendly and helpful everyone is. Other than teaching, most of Ms. Handy’s work experience comes from plant retail sales and landscaping! We are thankful to have Ms. Handy and for everything she does for our students! #triopia

It is with great excitement that we announce that Triopia will be visited by a Professional Therapy Dog. CoJack, a 3 year old Bernedoodle, will visit throughout the year as a service of the Regional Office of Education. Tomorrow, September 14, CoJack will be at Triopia and students will learn about him and review rules.
CoJack comes professionally trained by CARES, Inc, in Concordia, Kansas. He has been specifically trained for the school setting and has been working with students for the last two years.
We encourage students to interact with CoJack as the opportunity presents itself; however we understand that not everyone is a “dog person.” If your student has an allergy or a fear/uneasiness of dogs, we ask that you contact your student’s teacher to let him/her know. He/She will then be in contact with you about a plan that is individualized to meet the needs of your student. Interactions with CoJack are voluntary and at no time will anyone be required to interact.
We anticipate CoJack to be a benefit to student learning, social emotional health, and the overall health and well being of our school.
Please contact Mrs. Hobrock or Mr. Kuhlmann with any questions.
