For the week of October 7, Triopia is pleased to spotlight paraprofessional Mrs. Trish Halsne. Mrs. Halsne has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Western Illinois University. She started her career at Triopia in 2000 working as a paraprofessional and continues in that role today, as well as Geography Bowl sponsor. Mrs. Halsne's favorite task here at Triopia is helping students find their strengths, especially those students who believe they have too few, and helping them learn how to use those strengths to better their time in the classroom as well as time spent outside of the classroom.
Outside of school, she loves to be with family and friends, checking out places both near and far, and hanging out with her crazy hounds! Her favorite thing about Triopia is how we come together for a cause, whether it be in individual classrooms, school-wide activity, or community/charitable project. Triopia really has the teamwork thing down! :) When asked for something random, Mrs. Halsne said "As surprising as it will sound to most who know my technological skills, I was once referred to by a few hundred children as "the computer lady" because of the large mobile computer lab I drove around Jacksonville and Springfield, introducing young children to computers. The young ones now have to teach me!"
We are glad to have Mrs. Halsne here at Triopia. #triopia

We had a great group of students representing Triopia High School at the IHSA Leadership Conference that was held on September 30th. Thank you to Coach Thompson for providing this opportunity for our students.
