The April Junior High Student of the Month is Ella Ruppel (8th grade). She is the daughter of Amanda and Ryan Ruppel and has a sister, Alle (2nd Grade). Ella is involved in Poms and Archery here at Triopia.
Ella was nominated by Mrs. Burchard who had this to say, “Ella is eager to learn and almost always has a smile on her face. In my class Ella has shown that she's not only l
earning the material but also becoming more confident with her abilities and courageous demonstrating what she can do.”
Ella wants to attend SIU-Edwardsville when she graduates and wants to become a Game Warden. Ella says that her favorite class is Choir, because she really loves to sing and the songs they sing are very fun. Ella really likes popcorn, Reese’s thins, Monkeys, the TV Show Greys Anatomy, the movie Heaven is for Real, and her favorite Holiday is Easter. Ella really enjoys to run track, swim, and she really enjoys playing with her chickens. However, Ella is not a fan of broccoli. Congratulations Ella Ruppel!
Riddick Workman is the Underclassmen Student of the Month for April. He is the son of Melanie Workman and has a sister, Ameara (7th Grade).Riddick is a class president and is involved in Track, horticulture plant sales, and a football manager here at Triopia.
Riddick was nominated by Mrs. Embley who had this to say, “Riddick is a wonderful student to have in class. He works hard, stays positive, and is always willing to participate or help a classmate. He strives to do his best academically while balancing his extracurriculars.
Riddick wants to attend a college after high school but is unsure about where at this point. He would like to study to be a Wildlife Biologist.
Riddick’s favorite class is Biology as it mainly interests him and is a class that will help with his future career goals. Some of Riddick’s favorite things are lasagna, sour patch kids, the Golden Snub-nosed Monkey, the TV show Adventure Time, and his favorite holiday is Christmas. He also enjoys running Track at Virginia and really likes to hike and explore nature. Riddick’s least favorite things are having homework, pickles, and wasps. Congratulations Riddick Workman!
Rachel Nelson is the Upperclassmen Student of the Month for April. She is the daughter of Cheryl Nelson. Cheryl is involved in Softball here at Triopia.
Mrs. Dober nominated Rachel and noted, “I have been impressed lately (well always but extra lately) by Rachel's work ethic with the amount of work and the difficult topic in Calculus. She is mastering it each day and is helping her classmates along the way. Rachel is a fine student but just a fantastic person in general.”
Rachel plans to attend Maryville University in St. Louis and is interested in going into Forensic Phsycology as a career field. In addition Rachel is looking forward to enjoying her summer before she leaves for college and getting a lot accomplished in preparation for the next chapter in her life.
Rachel's favorite class is Anatomy and Physiology because she finds it incredibly interesting how the human body systems work and function with one another. Some of Rachel’s favorite things are Cayenne Chicken with Alfredo Pasta, Butterflies, the TV show Supernatural, the movie series Men in Black, and her favorite holiday is Halloween. She enjoys playing softball, drawing, singing, embroidering, making jewelry, and gardening. One of her favorite things to do outside of school is finding skulls and bones of animals and painting them to look elegant and not so intimidating. Rachel does not like Barbeque and unnecessary loud noises. Congratulations, Rachel Nelson!

Have you ever considered becoming a school bus driver?
ROE #1 will be hosting an Initial Bus Driver Training Course on Wednesday, May 5th & Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at the Quincy Bus Barn (121 N. 20th, Quincy, IL) from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. each night. Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages.

Happy Administrative Professionals’ Day to four irreplaceable ladies who go above and beyond for our students, staff, school and community each day! Be sure to take the time to thank Holly, Kim, Lisa, and Theresa for all they do!
Unfortunately, due to quarantines, our Band and Choir concert tomorrow night (Wednesday, April 21st) has been postponed. We hope to find another date in May so we can give our students the chance to perform in front of their families and show off their talents. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
OSS does not have enough 7th graders for a game tonight, so there will just be an 8th grade game tonight.
8th grade recognition will start at 6:00 PM and only play the 8th grade game.

Class of 2021 Illinois State Scholars were announced this week & Triopia is beyond proud of our 3! Sam Stanberry, Eli Embley, and Connor Musch. Illinois State Scholars, can be considered the Top 10% academic achievers in the state, looking at students cumulative GPA & SAT scores.
