Also, if you are planning on having your child leave school early when finals are done on May 27th, please be sure they get a permission slip filled out to do so. Students will be allowed to leave at 11:15am if they have a form on on file.

Baseball 4:00 field 1 and Softball 3:30 field 4. These are being played at Future Champions - formerly known as Lenz Field.
Please help your child look for any school library books they might have. All library books should be returned by Monday, May 24. We have books out from this year as well as several that are still out after last school year pandemic closure. Thank you for your help in returning these books.

Due to a sustained power outage, Triopia schools will dismiss at 12:00 today. There will be no afternoon Pre-K. Students will be fed lunch before leaving.

Good Morning:
After consulting with the Board of Education last night, plans are beginning to finalize for our high school graduation ceremony on Friday, May 28th. We apologize for the hesitation to make an announcement on specific plans, but were waiting to see if Illinois would enter the "Bridge Phase" before this event.
With the movement to the "Bridge Phase" this Friday, spectator events are allowed to have 60% capacity. After calculating the capacity numbers in our high school gym and looking at graduation attendance in the past, we feel comfortable moving forward with an indoor graduation where we shouldn't have to limit attendance. There may be an adjustment here or there, but anyone wanting and feeling comfortable enough to come should be able to.
More specifics will be coming out in the coming days. We are looking forward to celebrating the accomplishments of the Triopia Class of 2021!

Congratulations to the following students who received Honorable Mention awards for scoring between 50-74% on the National Spanish Exam this spring. Pictured left to right: Gracie Hobrock- level 3, Maggie Foster-level 2, and Lilly Pate- level 1. This is the first year Lilly and Maggie have taken the exam. Gracie has earned the Honorable Mention award for three consecutive years in levels 1-3. ¡Buen trabajo!
“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 55,000 students participating in 2021.”
The skies are turning dark, but the forecast says the rain will hold off, so we are going ahead with Promenade at 2pm in the front courtyard.
COVID-19 Update 5.7.21
Rachel Nelson is the Upperclassmen Student of the Month for April. She is the daughter of Cheryl Nelson. Cheryl is involved in Softball here at Triopia.
Mrs. Dober nominated Rachel and noted, “I have been impressed lately (well always but extra lately) by Rachel's work ethic with the amount of work and the difficult topic in Calculus. She is mastering it each day and is helping her classmates along the way. Rachel is a fine student but just a fantastic person in general.”
Rachel plans to attend Maryville University in St. Louis and is interested in going into Forensic Phsycology as a career field. In addition Rachel is looking forward to enjoying her summer before she leaves for college and getting a lot accomplished in preparation for the next chapter in her life.
Rachel's favorite class is Anatomy and Physiology because she finds it incredibly interesting how the human body systems work and function with one another. Some of Rachel’s favorite things are Cayenne Chicken with Alfredo Pasta, Butterflies, the TV show Supernatural, the movie series Men in Black, and her favorite holiday is Halloween. She enjoys playing softball, drawing, singing, embroidering, making jewelry, and gardening. One of her favorite things to do outside of school is finding skulls and bones of animals and painting them to look elegant and not so intimidating. Rachel does not like Barbeque and unnecessary loud noises. Congratulations, Rachel Nelson!
