We want your Feedback - Planning for the 2020-2021 School year!
We are very excited to open our doors back up to our students and staff on August 17th. As you all know the guidelines have been set by the state in order for us to get back to in-person learning this fall. We ask that you please take a few minutes to take this survey as your input is highly valued and will help us in the next few weeks to iron out a plan that bests suits our district.
The mandates from the state are as follows:
*Require use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including face coverings;
*Prohibit more than 50 individuals from gathering in one space;
*Require social distancing be observed, as much as possible;
*Require that schools conduct symptom screenings and temperature checks or require that individuals self-certify that they are free of symptoms before entering school buildings; and
*Require an increase in school wide cleaning and disinfection.
We fully expect plans to evolve over time, but your responses will help guide our planning to safely reopen schools this fall. The deadline to complete this survey is July 6th.

Return to School Guidance 2020-2021

The 2020 Triopia Alumni Banquet has been canceled for the year. The next banquet will be held in June 2021 and recognize both the 2020 and 2021 anniversary classes at that time. The Alumni newsletter will soon be sent to all alumni. The Board looks forward to seeing everyone in 2021.

During these difficult times, we must remember that we are part of ONE team and together, we can be the change. #triopia

Check out the class of 2020's Virtual Awards Ceremony. We are very proud of this class and want to congratulate all the scholarship award winners. This year, over $26,000 was given away. Click on the link and enjoy.

Triopia Little League is going to postpone baseball and softball for one week. It is our plan to start the week of June 15th. This gives us more time to contact parents and get the fields in playing condition and ensure we have guidelines put in place to ensure everyone enjoys their time playing and staying healthy. Thank you!

Good evening:
Earlier this week, the state of Illinois began to relax some guidelines on in-person learning. For instance, now we can begin Behind-the-Wheel driving (with stipulations) instruction again. Mr. Thompson will begin reaching out soon to the students who need to get their driving hours in so they can obtain their license.
Also, today the IHSA released their “Stage One of Return to Play” guidelines. These are the promising first steps towards possible athletics this next school year. These guidelines are IDPH approved. I will post the link to these guidelines below.
On Monday afternoon, the IHSA is holding a webinar about these guidelines. After possible questions are answered and we feel comfortable moving forward, I will look to have approval from the Morgan County Health Department, our district attorney and our liability insurance carrier. After that, we hope to have a special board meeting in the middle of next week to formally approve this plan.
In short, student athletes will hopefully begin to work with coaches in groups of ten for conditioning and weight lifting purposes soon. Guidelines in the document will be followed. After board approval, coaches can begin reaching out to make plans with student athletes.
If all of this goes to plan, I will update you all again next week. While there is no guarantee, I have a good feeling all will be approved and we will be allowed to do this.
It will be nice to get some of our students back at the school. Hopefully we are taking these first small steps back towards some normalcy for our fall semester.
As always, if you have questions give me a call at 217-457-2281 x 1025 or email me at adean@triopiacusd27.org.
Stay well,
Adam Dean, Superintendent
