As the holidays are quickly approaching, please take note of a message that was sent out at the beginning of the year about treats in the building. As allergies are on the rise, we are taking extra precautions at Triopia this year. Please do not send anything for your child's class without checking with your child's teacher or the office first. We ask that if you send treats for birthdays, holidays, etc. that everything be prepackaged and it comes to school with the labels. No cupcakes, cookie cakes or bakery items are allowed. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Hobrock. Our number one goal is always student safety! Thank you for your cooperation!

Today Mrs Bunfill's 5th graders presented their reading buddies with stories they made for them. The requirement: a sweet monster book that had to have their buddy's name written into the story :) They also made monsters after they read their books to take with them!

It’s been many years since we’ve beaten our rival Routt in volleyball. The last time may have been in 2014. Today, on a rescheduled Saturday morning match, with a few fans and no JV reserves to fill in and cheer them on, these girls came out with fire and beat Routt 25-20; 25-14. Thanks to everyone that came out this morning! 💙🏐💙 Triopia ends the regular season with a record of 17-15. Great job, ladies!

Today at lunch, Coach Thompson shared this form with all students and a letter explaining the process. Letterman jackets are an opportunity for students to show school pride and aren't necessarily just for athletes. They can be worn by students in all sorts of clubs and organizations. This year, if students get a jacket, Jostens will put the numerals, trojan head, and letter when the coat is purchased. While we understand that can be more expensive, it allows the company to do that for the student where you know it will be done correctly and saves the hassle of parents having to sew it themselves or have someone sew it for them. If a student chooses to get a jacket, fitting will be completed on Thursday during school. Any questions can be sent to Coach Thompson at rthompson@triopiacusd27.org or by calling him at 217-457-2281.

The September Upperclassman Student of the Month is 12th grader Trevin LIttleton. He is the son of Greg and Kathy LIttleton. Trevin participates in NHS at Triopia. Mrs. Price and Mrs. Dober both nominated Trevin for Student of the Month. Mrs. Price says “Trevin has shown great leadership as president of NHS. His drive for success has shown through his ability to organize meetings and fundraisers for our chapter. He is dedicated to his academic studies and I'm impressed with his professionalism. He's polite and friendly to both his peers and our staff”. In addition, Mrs. Dober says “Trevin is the president of NHS and so far has done a great job of organizing meetings and working to get items going for our chapter. He is also in Calculus and Statistics and is the hardest worker in both classes by far to make sure that he has his work done but also the understanding to master the topics. When others might be off task, Trevin continues to work to complete his tasks during the class period.” After graduating in May, Trevin would like to attend Washington University in St. Louis to study Business and Marketing and in the future he sees himself as a successful entrepreneur living in Florida. Trevin’s favorite class is Public Speaking because it pushes students out of their comfort zone and also teaches students skills they can utilize throughout their life. Fun facts about Trevin: He races sprint cars for Trevin Littleton Racing and he is pretty good at it! Trevin’s favorite food is chicken and he has a dog named Wally. Oddly enough, Trevin loves Christmas, but hates winter. Congratulations, Trevin!

The September Underclassman Student of the Month is 10th grader Ticen Crawford. He is the son of Luke and Jessica Crawford. Ticen is the oldest, and has two sisters Eve and Mey, and little brother Tate. Ticen participates in FFA and Football at Triopia. Mrs. Embley, who teaches Spanish, nominated Ticen for Student of the Month. Mrs. Embley says “Ticen is a hard-working, conscientious student who sets an example for his classmates by asking questions and consistently striving to improve. Ticen is involved in many school activities and is a leader in his class. He has a strong character, demonstrating responsibility, service, and respect to others”. In the future Ticen would like to earn a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Illinois. Currently, Ticen’s favorite class is World History through Film because Mr. Doyle makes the class fun and the work is pretty easy if you just pay attention. Fun facts about Ticen: He is involved in Youth Group at 1C in Jacksonville and his favorite food is a steak (well done). Under no circumstances will Ticen drink after someone. Congratulations, Ticen!
