Reminder!
Triopia does have a "Late Start" protocol for inclement weather.
Purpose: In the event of extreme cold or dangerous road conditions, the district superintendent, in consultation with the local road commissioners and other area superintendents, can determine whether school needs to be out for the entirety of the day, thus using an emergency day, or can implement the “late start” protocol. The “late start” protocol will only be used when it is determined that travel will be safe around 9:00 AM.
Protocol: Bus drivers will begin their routes roughly two hours after their usual starting time (example, if their first pickup is usually 7:00 AM, then it will be at 9:00 AM on a “late start” day.) School will begin at 10:15 AM and will dismiss at regular afternoon dismissal times.
Please keep this in mind as dangerous cold is in the forecast towards the end of the week.
Thank you!

The IHSA recently approved several by-law changes that will impact summer athletics and the 2026 athletic seasons. We want to communicate these updates early so families can plan accordingly.
Beginning in the summer of 2026, the IHSA has established a mandatory statewide “No Contact Week” that will occur annually during the Fourth of July Week. For 2026, this week will be June 29-July 5. During this week, schools are not permitted to hold practices, competitions, open gyms, conditioning, or weight training. As part of this change, the previous no-contact week in early August has been eliminated.
The IHSA has also expanded the football playoffs by 16 schools in each class. Due to these changes, the week 1 of the regular season will occur a week earlier.
With the change of the No Contact Week and games beginning earlier, families should take these changes into account when scheduling trips or commitments. We will continue to communicate further details when schedules and plans become more finalized.
Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we adjust to these statewide changes. Our goal is to provide clarity as early as possible while continuing to prioritize the health, development, and overall experience of our student-athletes.
Trojans fans, you make a difference! Your energy lifts our teams, and your positive support sets the tone for our athletes. Let’s continue cheering with class and representing Triopia with pride. Remember, let the players play, let the coaches coach, and let the officials officiate! #triopia

Triopia Trojans play with pride. We compete with intensity, we respect the game, and we show sportsmanship in every situation and to every individual involved...whether we win or lose. Let’s keep representing our school the right way. #triopia
