Happy Birthday, Mrs. Pam Phelps!

from all of us at Triopia CUSD #27

The October Junior High Student of the Month is 7th grader Addalyn McCormick. She is the daughter of Bryce and Kara McCormick. Addalyn has one brother, Kaden, in 4th grade and one sister, Paityn, in 1st grade. Addalyn participates in Basketball and Volleyball at Triopia.
Addalyn was nominated for October Student of the Month because of how quickly she has tackled the adjustment of entering Junior High, for her dedication in the classroom, her willingness to participate in class, and her consistent positive attitude each and every day at school.
In the future Addalyn would like to attend college in Nebraska to study sports medicine and play Big 10 Volleyball! Currently, Addalyn’s favorite class is PE because she really likes sports.
Fun facts about Addalyn: she is a big fan of tacos and is gearing up for her favorite holiday - Christmas! She also loves the show Station 19, Top Gun, horseback riding, and her dog, a Golden Retriever named Annie. However, Annie makes her pretty mad when he does not listen to her.

The October Upperclassman Student of the Month is 12th grader Riddick Workman. Riddick is the son of Melanie Workman and the late William Workman, and brother to 9th grader Ameara Workman. Riddick is the Treasurer of NHS and of the Senior Class, he also is on the Scholastic Bowl.
Riddick was nominated for Student of the Month because of his solid work ethic, maturity, quiet style of leadership, and willingness to help out in a multitude of ways. Riddick is able to balance multiple leadership roles within the school and keep great grades!
After graduation Riddick plans to attend college to study Environmental Science but is unsure at what college at the moment. His list of possibilities currently include University of Illinois at Springfield, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and Northwest Missouri State University. Not surprising is that Riddick’s favorite class this year has been Environmental Science because it is a relaxed classroom environment and the topics they learn about are so interesting that they make him want to learn more each day.
Fun facts about Riddick: he likes Chex Mix, the show Breaking Bad, and the new Black Panther movie. Riddick is gearing up for his favorite holiday, Christmas, and during Winter Break he might spend some time on his hobbies of hiking and playing video games with friends. His favorite animal is a monkey, and he dislikes people who do not like monkeys…he also dislikes filling out questionnaires about himself when he is named Student of the Month.

The October Underclassman Student of the Month is 9th grader Keylie DeGroot. She is the daughter of Chad and Tarrah DeGroot, and the big sister to Sydnie who is a 6th grader at Triopia. Keylie participates in Choir and is looking forward to Triopia’s Spring Play Children of the Rainbow.
Keylie was nominated for Student of the Month because of her leadership skills in class and her hard work and attention to detail. However, her most treasured quality is her kindness to all. Keylie goes above and beyond to help and comfort whoever is in need.
Keylie is interested in going to college and is currently interested in graphic design or becoming a special effects technician. She also might be interested in joining the National Guard. Keylie’s favorite class so far this year has been Spanish. She likes the class because she gets to learn a lot of new words and phrases, and she enjoys speaking a new language.
Fun facts about Keylie: she is a fan of Twix bars, but not licorice, likes dogs, but not spiders nor stink bugs, loves art and singing but not bad grades and mean people.
