Congratulations to our alumni who won the championship in the “Battle of the Cass County Alumni” on Saturday, November 30th in Virginia.

Good Evening:
Yesterday I posted a newsletter discussing poor sportsmanship and the effect it can have on the need for officials and coaches statewide. The newsletter was spread throughout the internet via social media. WICS News Channel 20 asked today to do a story and an interview with me and Coach Thompson regarding this newsletter. The story that aired today and that was shared online misrepresented my statements. The title even states, “Bad Behavior from Triopia sports fans causes shortage in coaches”. My comments were aimed at all fans, not just our own. In fact, I reiterated several times during the interview today that our fans are some of the best in the state. I even stated this in the newsletter.
To clarify what was stated in the story, the IHSA does not wave fees for coaches, although the district does usually pay for the cost of someone who takes coaching classes. IHSA has waved fees for those wanting to become officials.
I apologize to our communities for the way this was all represented. I ask that all fans statewide, or even nationwide, just think before you speak at athletic contests. If you have specific questions, see the newsletter yourself and you can determine what I really meant.
Proud, as always, to be a Triopia Trojan,
Adam Dean
Superintendent
