Triopia CUSD #27

The Triopia Trojans football pulled out an unbelievable come from behind victory this past Saturday at Tuscola 22-21 to advance to the Illinois class 1A semi-final game.  The Trojans had their backs to the wall when they were down 21-8 with five minutes remaining in the final quarter of play.  Bradley Dinsmore ran a reverse in from twenty-seven yards out and Jacob Fricke caught the two point conversion pass from Kellan Phelps with 3:31 left on the clock.  After Tuscola gained a crucial first down, the Warriors fumbled on the next play from scrimmage and Adam Brockhouse fell on the loose ball giving the Trojans new life with 1:29 left to play in regulation.  On the first play, Kellan Phelps rolled out left and found a wide-open Shaun Kerr for a 34 yard touchdown strike to put the Trojans ahead for good at 22-21.  Bradley Dinsmore wrapped up the victory with an interception with 0:03 remaining.  The Trojans will advance to play the Salt Fork Storm this coming Saturday at 1:30 at Don Kemp Field.  The Storm are 12-0 on the season which will provide a matchup of two undefeated teams.  The winner will advance to the state championship game to be played at the University of Illinois in Champaign on Friday, November 28th at 10:00am.

•The Board of Education will hold the November meeting on Wednesday November 19th at 7 p.m. in the Board Room at the Jr. Sr. High School.
